Justice Mail Action 6th November 2017

Dear Justice Mail Friends,

The illegal occupation of Palestinian territory by Israel, as defined by international humanitarian law and condemned under UN resolutions, marked 50 years in June 2017. A third and even fourth generation of Palestinians and Israelis have been born into a situation in which violence and injustice are commonplace.

Please use the Cafod link below to email your MP and ask them to call on Foreign Secretary, Boris Johnson, to put the UK government’s weight behind a renewed peace process.

Justice Mail Action 19th October 2017

Dear Justice Mail Friends,

Small-scale food producers are experiencing escalating levels of violence and oppression. Their way of life stands in the way of global agribusiness expansion and they are losing their land and their livelihoods.

Negotiations are taking place at the UN on a declaration of rights for small-scale food producers. If successful, this would be an important step to enshrine their rights and help protect small-farmers across the world from violence and persecution.

Use the Global Justice Now link call on the UK government to support the UN peasant declaration

Justice Mail Action 6th October

Dear Justice Mail Friends,

Over recent weeks, several countries in the Caribbean have been devastated by hurricanes. Some of those countries were already heavily indebted, often in part because of loans taken out to help with rebuilding efforts following previous disasters.

Use the Jubilee Debt Campaign link below to ask lenders to suspend debt payments immediately.

Justice Mail Action 15th September 2017

Dear Justice Mail Friends,

Last December we joined with Christian Aid in asking banks to transfer their investments from fossil fuels into renewable energy. Christian Aid’s Campaign is still ongoing. In addition to asking British banks to make this change they are also asking the World bank to do likewise.

Use the Christian Aid link below to Email the President of the World Bank, Jim Yong Kim, and ask him to stop funding dirty energy once and for all.

Justice Mail Action 2nd September 2017

Dear Justice Mail Friends,

Coping with the school holidays pushes many families into food poverty and insecurity. While many children from low-income families are entitled to free school meals during term time, there is currently no such provision during holidays. A recent report by the All Party Parliamentary Group on Hunger found that as many as three million children faced the risk of food insecurity this summer.

A ‘Holiday Food Provision Bill’ is being presented to the Houses of Parliament on 5 September. Over 100 MPs have already declared their support, but we need more to do so. Use the Church Action on Poverty link below to ask your MP to support the bill.
